Quest Outreach Society Involves Local Schools in Food Drive

VANCOUVER — Quest Outreach Society collected over $ 23,000.00 worth of food from its Harvest of Hope food-and-fund drive. This Thanksgiving campaign brings hope to hungry and disadvantaged people throughout the lower mainland.

"This year over 39 groups participated in the Harvest of Hope campaign – most of those involved were elementary schools students", explains Sonya Jenssen, Quest's Community Relations Coordinator.

Groups collected food and funds in a variety of creative ways; they held hotdog sales, Halloween dances, lobby box drives, and door-to-door collections. Last year's event raised $17,000 worth of food.

Vancouver participating school's include:

* Crofton Junior School
* Gladstone Secondary School
* Immaculate Conception School
* Jamieson Elementary
* John Henderson Annex

* McKenchie Elementary
* Oppenheimer Elementary Osler Elementary
* Quilchena School
