Quest Food Exchange wants to sincerely thank all the Vancity members who voted for the four finalists. And we are very honoured to be selected as the recipient of the Vancity $1 million Award. But we need people to understand – the award is about bricks and mortar, not food and families.

Quest needs the operating donations we always rely on to get food to the families who need it most. Quest said to people throughout the campaign: “We’re only rescuing 1 per cent of the food that we can. What if we could rescue 3 per cent?” This award has a chance to help us do just that, but only if people realize we still need donations and support.

With your help, and the continued donations of our dedicated partners, the larger facility will enable us to increase our capacity by three times. That means we will have the potential to rescue $21 million worth of high-quality food per year and redistribute it to feed 150,000 people in the Lower Mainland each month.
